"2004 Mic Artist Of The Year"
Mic Magazine for Broadcasters and Bands
"Victoria's pipes, which have the potency of Johnette Napolitano and Linda Perry, work in flawless unison with Bois' string skills."
Abby Weingarten, Sarasota Herald-Tribune
"The tone throughout is hard as a callous, confident, self-possessed and unwaveringly
cool....Rating: 4 out of 5 kisses"
Rachelle Nones, Betty Magazine

"Dana Victoria pulls off the vocals with attitude and power. She has a great
presence on the CD, complementing the eclectic songwriting of Bill Bois."
Mark Rossmore, BandCode.net

"The timeless electro-ambient prog-pop-punk disc is sufficiently spliced for
modern hypnotica, too."
Dawn Scire, Sarasota Herald-Tribune
"This is really freaking cool! ... A fairly eclectic mix with a positive message is
enough to prove this band has serious chops!"
Kimmie, ScoreRocks.com

"Not so much rock, pop or punk as they are perfect commercial music, X Takes the Square
is a band any self-respecting major label water head would wet dream over signing."
Matthew Smith, GirlPunk.net

"...punchy but biting female vocals; simultaneously driving, comforting and snappy."
CD Baby
"Molto belle le liriche di Bill Bois che erano già scritte in precedenza come poesie
e a cui si è voluto dare un commento sonoro."

Fan Quotes
I was biking back from my school to my home which is a good 8 km away. It was just about dark. The wind was
picking up and storm clouds were rolling in. The birds were urgently flying past me so I guessed the rain
wasn't far behind. There weren't many cars on this usually busy road, and there were no other bikes or
people anywhere. The whole thing just felt ominous. I really didn't want to get stuck in a storm, and I was
still a good 4 km away from my home in nothing but a T shirt and shorts. So, I decided to take this little
overgrown path that seemed to cut across some right angles. I figured it would get me home a little quicker.
As I turned off the main road and headed down this sharp, narrow, dirt path, with tree branches snapping me,
your CD, Goddess of Cool repeated from the beginning (with no explanation) and the drums and crazy sounds
from Endorphin kicked in. Needless to say, that did nothing for my angst. I just thought you should know
that your song unnerved me completely (not all by itself, though) but I really enjoyed the whole moment.
It was perfect timing on all accounts and I won't forget it. I made it through, thankfully, and the path did
take a little time off my commute. AND, I beat the rain.

"My heart and X Takes The Square
A lovely pair"
Jessica Hudlow
"Pop Rock, Street Punk, and strange semi-gothy techno edge. Sometimes quirky, but always hip."
Barry Waddell, Earth Mother Music
"Punk grows up and finds even bigger hooks."
Marc Tobio, Ruby Lashes/Psycho
"XTTS - rocking harder than your granny on ketamine after a Cliff Richards concert!!!"
Wyrm
"...sounds great. Has some fusion, punk, ska, etc. blended nicely - sounds familiar yet original."
Ed Fox, Purdue University
"They say the number 13 is unlucky. Well, I'm here to say differently. I got very lucky to your song
number 13. My boyfriend says it has great tempo to, errrr... well, let me just quote him, 'This song
is great to eat you out to!' so there you go. :-) I agree wholeheartedly."

"Progressive meets Punk. Longer well crafted songs with the aggressiveness and rawness of Punk. The more you
listen the more you like it. Great bass playing. Nice hooks. Good production. The vocalist is very reminiscent
of The Cranberries and Garbage."
Steve Stasiukiewicz, Point 6
"She's a little bit Chrissie Hynde, he's a little bit, er, um, ah.... shit, Bill rocks!!"
JR James
"A scintillating combination of 80's style synth poprock and 60's garage rock R+B tinged vocals."
Violet
"R U X or R U2?"
Erica Veil
"It's very Bois."
Mike Rogers, former Swallowed guitarist
